As you all are very well aware, winter is upon us here at Slippery Rock University. From freezing temperatures to even snow, it is unfortunately here. This means you must be ready to dress for this cold weather. I recommend a warm winter coat, hat and even gloves on some mornings. Check the weather everyday before leaving your home so that you are not put in a very unfortunate situation where you are freezing cold all day long.
Being a phys ed teacher is much more than just blowing a whistle and rolling a ball. Being a phys ed teacher means that you get the opportunity to impact every single kids life. I can almost guarantee that every single one of you have at least one memory from phys ed class growing up. I believe the goal of a phys ed teacher should be to give every student the confidence, through experience, to be able to live a healthy and well life. That doesn't mean just until you graduate high school. Giving them the tools to carry on a healthy lifestyle through adulthood is a goal I believe everyone should have.
Yes winter is here. I prefer the colder weather. When it's hot outside, I'm usually uncomfortable all day. My preference is a happy medium, somewhere in between summer and winter. One thing I have learned from living in western Pennsylvania is that you can experience some wild inclement weather. It's almost impossible to dress appropriately. Best to keep an extra set of clothes in a gym bag if possible.
ReplyDeleteI hate hate hate the cold, I am a summer girl inside and out. I always wear lots on layers in the morning and then once the sun comes out I have to delayer, I'd rather be safe than sorry and wear more than I need. When we start practice in the winter it is very difficult to tell what layers you do and do not need so I always bring more out than I need to.
